Rolling in Orlando with Buffalo Trace & Cigars

Our team likes Whiskey and enjoy Buffalo Trace Whiskey Our team likes Whiskey, celebrates with Whiskey and unlike beer, spirits doesn’t cause obesity. When we are out at rallies, we bring a few bottles to evaluate.

So after we finished up a 11 hour day on Saturday at the AIMExpo last year we were ready to relax. Only problem, we were running on fumes with our own supplies so we decided to make Kyle Shorey of Speed Foundry our host for the evening.
We fired up our Harley-Davidson scoots and had Shorey lead us as we blasted over to a local cigar and whiskey shop named Corona Cigar Company. We parked our Harleys next to the Porches and Ferraris.

Undeniably the best cigar/whiskey shop I've ever found is the Corona Cigar Company in Orlando, FL.....and I've been to a lot. Prices are not unreasonable and the selection is second to none.

At the Corona Cigar Company

The lounge has an incredible selection of adult beverages. Cigar Aficionado Magazine described Corona Cigar Company as "The largest, best-stocked cigar shop in America". The female staff at the lounge were exceptionally knowledgeable and these ladies were cool. Not Cosmo cool, rather girl next door cool.

The Corona Cigar Company is memorable because:
  • Selection - Choose from thousands of cigar brands
  • Huge selection of rare vintage pre-embargo Cuban cigars
  • Atmosphere – Nice place to hang out, relaxed and comfortable

Buffalo Trace all around

Buffalo Trace has been around for a while but this was the first opportunity to give it the full treatment. The Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is distilled, aged and bottled at the most award-winning distillery in the world.

Made from corn, rye and barley malt, this whiskey ages in new oak barrels for years in century old warehouses until the peak of maturity.

After a couple of glasses, it was as satisfying as throwing a leg over the Harley Dyna and blasting off into the cool summer night.   The taste is rich with hints of vanilla, toffee and candied fruit. The smooth finish lingers on the palate. It makes for a good pre-dinner drink. It’s everything you want in an everyday bourbon. Buffalo Trace Whiskey

Aging Process for Buffalo Trace

Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey has been aged for 7 years, which is around the average age for American whiskeys. The age denotes the youngest component of the spirit, this blend may include parts that are far older.   American whiskeys like Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey have exploded in popularity and distilleries are struggling to keep up with demand; in accordance with American law they must be aged in new oak barrels.

Bourbon whiskey is the most popular whiskey in America and is growing in popularity globally. Under U.S. law bourbon must be distilled at no higher than 160 proof, this helps highlight the flavor of the mash which must contain at least 51% corn.

Burbon Sales are flowing

We aren’t the only ones enamored with American Whiskey. In its annual meeting with the media and Wall Street analysts, trade body the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (Discus) said supplier sales increased 4.1% in 2015, with total volumes up 2.3%.

Discus estimates that total retail sales of distilled spirits in the US market reached almost US$72 billion in 2015, supporting 1.4 million jobs in the hospitality industry.

The council cites the influence of millennials in driving “innovation and premiumisation”, hospitality tax restraints, modernized alcohol laws, “craft” products, provenance-focused products, micro-distilleries and the continued growth of cocktail culture enhanced the industry.

Chicks dig me, because I rarely wear underwear and when I do it's usually something unusual. A website without a direction is like a foot without a big toe. I provide direction, coordinate updates and monitor activities… I’m the big toe for the 5-Ball Racing Garage site.
